Audiovisual Production Challenges in Málaga

Audiovisual Productions

Audiovisual production often demands flexibility, precision, and creative problem-solving. While Barcelona remains one of Spain’s leading production hubs, sometimes the right project calls for a change of scenery. This was the case with our recent Mitsubishi Outlander HEV campaign, which took us to the south of Spain, into the dynamic setting of Calvert Studios in Málaga.

Producing in Calvert Studios came with both unique opportunities and significant challenges. First, coordinating a production team accustomed to working in Barcelona required careful logistical planning. Transporting crew, equipment, and vehicles across cities meant adjusting timelines and anticipating potential delays. Additionally, while Málaga offers over 300 days of sunshine a year, we encountered unpredictable weather that forced us to rethink exterior shots and adapt the schedule on-site.

Another key challenge was integrating both interior studio work and outdoor location scenes within a tight production window. Calvert Studios, however, proved to be an invaluable asset. Its versatile, state-of-the-art facilities provided us with controlled environments for car sequences and product shots. Moreover, its proximity to diverse landscapes—beaches, mountains, and urban backdrops—allowed us to capture a rich variety of visuals without moving far from base.

Thanks to a committed team and seamless collaboration between local and Barcelona-based crews, we turned every challenge into an opportunity. The final result was a dynamic audiovisual production that showcased not only the Mitsubishi Outlander HEV’s capabilities but also the potential of Málaga as a versatile filming destination.

This project reaffirmed the importance of adaptability and detailed pre-production in audiovisual production. Whether in Barcelona, Málaga, or elsewhere, each location brings its own set of surprises, and knowing how to navigate them is key to a successful shoot.
